Just a few photos (taken from the official photographer, credits are on the photos) from the concert at Olavshallen. It was really neat to take part in all the 100 year anniversary celebrations. The banquet dinner was an adventure in Norwegian culture. There were many toasts, all of which required singing, and interesting ceremony honoring new members of the musicians' honor society, Polyhymnia. Most importantly, the ceremony involved "knighting" by means of tapping them on the head with a giant plastic tuning fork...
The concert program included Shostakovich (or Sjostakovitsj, if you prefer the Norwegian spelling!) 5, Glinka's Overture to Russlan and Ludmila, a new piece by Håkestad (a Norwegian composer) and the prelude to the 3rd act of Lohengrin, by Wagner. We were joined by alumni for the last piece - including quite a few members from the 50s and 60s.
