Just a few photos from a trip to Munkholmen - the tiny island in the fjord near Trondheim. It has been a burying ground, execution ground, and monastery at different points in history.
The ferry trip over takes about 10 minutes. It was pretty sunny when we set out and there was a sailing class going on.
Looking back at the city on the way to Munkholmen:
A couple views of the island, where we (some Italian and German exchange students, Mexican, Indian, and Italian PhD students and myself) had a picnic lunch and walked around a little. It's pretty tiny, but the views are amazing and it's kind of neat to see. Unfortunately, the museum wasn't open because it was a Sunday afternoon, so we missed out on the historical details.
Daniele picking cherries!
And just a couple photos from the boat ride back to Trondheim...
